Feb 19, 2019 Boston airport Waiting to board; on our way to Iceland. Yeah, I'm starting to write this blog thing again. Let me do some catch up before we embark in this Iceland trip. First let's summarize the end of last year. Basically we kept traveling while keeping an eye on Jeremy and his new life as a working teen. We hiked the Connecticut portion of the New England trail, see the blog here: New England Trail https://brasjorge-net.blogspot.com/2018/10/new-england-trail.html We visited our good friend Gary at his barn in Ohio, Then we had our Uncle and Aunt visit us from France. Muriel our best City Guide! Then we flew to Portugal to visit our family and help with the olive harvest. Cutting veggies with our nephew Raphael Joao loves the Portuguese good old tramways! It's been almost 2 months since we left the PCT and the “trail life”. Now, strangely, It feels like it never happened, like a dream. We all got busy with other occupations and very quickly the PCT adventure felt very far away. Our cat, Nabu, really missed us… Joao started to clear all the overgrown vegetation and reclaim the backyard that had been forgotten by the kids. Muriel started painting lessons. Jeremy found a job at a cafe near home. Meanwhile we kept doing stuff: Canoe trip on the Housatonic River in August. Where we almost capsized and finished by walking back to the car under a storm / downpour! 🤣 Hiked the infamous “Presidential Traverse” in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. Much harder than we thought! Hiking on boulders from 8:30am till 9:30 pm! Went mushroom hunting (so much rain this year!) Visited Franklin Roosevelt historic mansion.
