Part 1

It's been almost 2 months since we left the PCT and the “trail life”.

Now, strangely, It feels like it never happened, like a dream.

We all got busy with other occupations and very quickly the PCT adventure felt very far away.

Our cat, Nabu, really missed us…

Joao started to clear all the overgrown vegetation and reclaim the backyard that had been forgotten by the kids.

Muriel started painting lessons.

Jeremy found a job at a cafe near home.

Meanwhile we kept doing stuff:

Canoe trip on the Housatonic River in August.

Where we almost capsized and finished by walking back to the car under a storm / downpour! 🤣

Hiked the infamous “Presidential Traverse” in the White Mountains, New Hampshire.

Much harder than we thought! Hiking on boulders from 8:30am till 9:30 pm!

Went mushroom hunting (so much rain this year!)

Visited Franklin Roosevelt historic mansion.

Hiked in the Catskills, NY

Joao helped his friend Mike with his roof repair

Went for a cruise on the Connecticut river near the Goodspeed Opera House

and then had a great time watching a pretty good and self deprecating musical (The Drowsy Chaperone)

Meanwhile, yes! Jeremy is still working! He's the most appreciated employee at the cafe according to all customers but also almost lost his job for not showing up a couple of times! We were not surprised by both events! 😂😂

We hope he will be soon motivated to start working on the GED though.
